Are Term Life Insurance Quotes Right For You?
Term life insurance provides financial protection over a set "term" or period. Getting some term life insurance quotes might be the right step especially if you want coverage over a long period.

Depending on the plan, you can start out cheap with low premiums that rise as you get older. That’s great for young families or newlyweds who may be cash-strapped but expect their income to increase over the long haul. It's also good for families with kids in college that may be handling heavy debt, but still want to feel secure with life insurance in the event of an unexpected death.

Term life insurance is best when your timeline needs are 30 years or less and when the cost of permanent insurance is more than your budget allows. You can use it as a supplement if your employer’s life insurance isn’t enough, or in place of employee plans.

Types Of Term Life Insurance:

  • Renewable Term Insurance
Allows automatic renewal of coverage at the end of the term without submitting new medical information, and even if your health has deteriorated. However, the premium will usually rise with each renewal.

  • Convertible Term Insurance

  • Flexible coverage that lets you change your policy and make it permanent without a medical exam. Premiums are usually higher than for nonconvertible policies. Once converted, permanent coverage premiums will be higher than those for the term policy for the same death benefit. The good news is, those permanent policy premiums will now be capped while the term premiums will continue to rise every year.

  • Level Term Insurance

  • These policies offer a death benefit and fixed or “level” premium for a set amount of years. This affordable insurance lets you lock in a low rate, but after the level period expires - you’ll pay higher premiums. There’s usually a guaranteed maximum stated in the policy. Some level insurance runs as long as 30 years.

  • Decreasing Term Insurance

  • Instead of increasing, the death benefit in this type of policy actually decreases over its term. The premium also decreases over time. The reason? Older couples may buy it as a financial hedge, which over time becomes unnecessary.

Once you decide which policy fits your specific situation, make sure to compare quotes and analyze the plan you are interested before making a final decision.
